ip & unfair competition

Find out more about the practice groups history.

Schoenherr has a long-standing and impressive tradition when it comes to its ip law mastery. More than 70 years ago our firm was founded by Fritz Schönherr, an internationally renowned ip specialist, and our teams have ever since continued to work hard, further developing the Schoenherr ip practice.

Guido Kucsko, who started at Schoenherr as an associate of Fritz Schönherr, pursued an inspiring and notable career, becoming a household name on the ip market. In addition to developing the ip practice further, he provided clients with top-class legal advisory.

Over decades, he not only reinterpreted ip law and found new solutions for clients, but also shared his knowledge and expertise: In his numerous publications, the numerous University Courses he still holds and by mentoring and teaching the next generation of ip lawyers.

Guido Kucsko retired in 2022, and he now devotes himself to his art.

Today, the ip & technology practice group - a merger of the ip & unfair competition and technology & digitalisation departments - is co-headed by Michael Woller and Thomas Kulnigg. The high standard of consulting and the solution orientation are naturally continued and developed by the team.
