Austria: Schoenherr advises EcoNetix on seed extension financing round raising total seed funding to EUR 4.5m

Schoenherr advised ClimateTech start-up EcoNetix on its latest seed extension financing round, which increased the total seed funding volume to EUR 4.5m.

The round was predominantly supported by existing investors and complemented by selected new business angels and family offices that are joining EcoNetix's mission.

EcoNetix GmbH is a Vienna-based ClimateTech start-up whose data-driven platform captures, certifies and integrates CO₂ reduction projects into global markets as a carbon asset manager. The company's proprietary technology combines state-of-the-art digital monitoring, reporting and verification methods (dMRV) with end-to-end project and asset management. This ensures that climate protection measures – ranging from reforestation and mangrove projects to innovative energy initiatives – are reliably documented, verified and traded internationally as high-quality carbon credits.

Through this combination of technological precision, regulatory security and global market access, EcoNetix enables companies, financial investors and public institutions to efficiently achieve their climate goals while maximising transparency, credibility and social impact.

"Since the early days of EcoNetix, we have been able to rely on Schoenherr," said Paul Nimmerfall, COO of EcoNetix. "With great commitment, exceptional responsiveness and first-class legal expertise, the team has earned our trust – and remains a central partner on our growth journey."

"This financing round underscores the global potential of EcoNetix and the growing importance of technology-based solutions in climate protection," remarked Dominik Tyrybon, who led the Schoenherr advisory team. "It was a pleasure to provide legal support for this important step."

The Schoenherr team advising on the transaction consisted of Dominik Tyrybon (attorney at law) and Maximilian Czernin (associate).
