Austria: Schoenherr advises scale-up Storyblok on its USD 80m Series C financing

Schoenherr advised the Austrian scale-up Storyblok on its Series C financing worth USD 80m, bringing the total amount raised to USD 138m, marking the largest financing round to date this year.

With this funding, Storyblok will further accelerate its growth in the US and Europe, enabling the company to fulfil its vision of building the first end-to-end content platform, powered by AI and automation. This Series C is being led by US investment firm Brighton Park Capital, with participation from existing investors HV Capital, Mubadala Capital, 3VC and firstminute capital.

Schoenherr comprehensively advised Storyblok on all relevant legal aspects of the funding and once again demonstrated its expertise in international venture capital transactions. This financing round follows a Series A financing of USD 8.5m in February 2021 and a Series B financing of USD 47m in May 2022, which Schoenherr also advised Storyblok on (read here and here).

"We are delighted to have once again had the opportunity to advise Storyblok and are proud of our trusted collaboration, which we continued with this transaction," said Schoenherr partner Thomas Kulnigg. "Congratulations to the entire Storyblok team."

Storyblok GmbH, a start-up founded in Linz in 2017, has built a headless CMS designed for both technical and non-technical users like marketers to manage content that appears across websites, apps and other digital interfaces for education, commerce, gaming and numerous other purposes.

The Schoenherr team advising Storyblok was led by Thomas Kulnigg (partner) and further consisted of Clemens Pretscher (attorney at law), Michael Woller (partner) and Dominik Tyrybon (attorney at law).

Brighton Park Capital was advised by Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP and Wolf Theiss (lead partner: Hartwig Kienast).
