Schoenherr advised TUPPERWARE Österreich GmbH in connection with its restructuring proceedings without self-administration.
Effective 2 October 2024, restructuring proceedings without self-administration were opened over the assets of TUPPERWARE Österreich due to the economic situation of its (indirect) parent company Tupperware Brands Corporation and the Tupperware group. Despite extensive restructuring efforts, Tupperware Brands Corporation had to file for "Chapter 11" reorganisation proceedings in September 2024. Consequently, the Austrian company also had to file for insolvency. TUPPERWARE Österreich continues operations in the ongoing restructuring proceedings.
The objective is to restructure TUPPERWARE Österreich and implement a restructuring plan to financially stabilise the company.
The Tupperware Group employs 5,450 people across 41 countries and approximately 465,000 independent sales consultants. The company was founded in 1938 by Earl Tupper.
The Schoenherr team was led by Miriam Simsa (partner) and also included Christian Cacic (associate).
