Austria: Schoenherr boosts its insurance practice with industry expert Marguerita Sedrati-Müller

With nine active lawyers, the practice group steered by partner Peter Konwitschka and counsel Manuela Zimmermann is one of the largest in this field in Austria. The practice group also includes 27 legal experts in Schoenherr's Central and Eastern European offices who regularly advise clients on insurance law and the regulatory aspects of insurance.

Marguerita Sedrati-Müller has a wealth of experience in insurance contract law for non-life as well as life insurance, supervisory law, distribution law, civil law and civil procedure. Her advisory expertise is focused on non-life insurance law as well as distribution law with an emphasis on the implementation of the Insurance Distribution Directive. Mr Konwitschka and Ms Zimmermann are pleased about the new team member, whom they describe as not only a talented attorney, but also a proven industry expert: "Marguerita impressed us from the very beginning with her sound knowledge of insurance law and expertise in this field. Marguerita Sedrati-Müller graduated from the University of Vienna with a law degree and later completed a second degree in journalism and communications. She is registered as a trained civil mediator with the Austrian Ministry of Justice. Prior to joining Schoenherr, Marguerita worked for 12 years at a Viennese law firm in the insurance and dispute resolution fields. She is a frequent author of specialist publications and often lectures at legal seminars, receiving the Speaker of the Year Award in 2017.
