Bosnia and Herzegovina: New Competition Act expected in 2018

One of the council's medium-term objectives is to make market regulation more efficient with the aim of strengthening competition protection in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The council will therefore initiate a change in the existing Law on the Protection of Competition in order to align it with EU regulations. The council has also stressed its dedication to improving its expertise and administrative capacity.

Further, in recent months the council has intensified cooperation with other competition authorities in the region. Representatives of the council have attended conferences organised by the competition authorities of Croatia and Turkey and visited the Commission for the Protection of Competition of Serbia. This is a clear indication of the close cooperation between these authorities.
