Brief Review of the Bulgarian State Aid Measure for Preserving Jobs During the COVID-19 Outbreak

Since March 2020 Bulgaria has introduced a number of measures in order to mitigate the socioeconomic impact of the COVID-19 outbreak. In a recent contribution to lexxion, Ilko Stoyanov and Kristina Chakarova give a brief overview of one of the measures which has been widely approved among Bulgarian businesses, and which is of a scale that can be reasonably anticipated to affect a significant part of the Bulgarian economy: the employment scheme for preserving jobs in the most affected sectors.
