Competition Authority begins work on new Competition Act and block regulations

The Competition Authority, together with the Ministry for Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, has lodged an initiative for the new Competition Act, which will replace the Competition Act 2009 (amended in 2013).

The goal is to harmonise the new act with EU rules while observing the specific demands of the Serbian market. Once the draft is ready, it will be presented for public debate.

Further, the authority issued three draft block regulations for public review and comment. The regulations include:

  • the Regulation on Technology Transfer Agreements;
  • the Regulation on Agreements in the Rail, Road and Inland Waterways Transport Sector; and
  • the Regulation on Vertical Agreements and Concerted Practice in the Motor Vehicle Sector.
