(Re)Constructing restructuring and insolvency in CEE

There is growing concern across CEE about a potential wave of insolvency and restructuring proceedings. Given the economic aftermath of COVID-19, combined with the impact of rising inflation and interest rates, the energy crisis and the war in Ukraine, the road ahead seems bumpy at best. Tsvetan Krumov, Co-Head of Restructuring & Insolvency at Schoenherr Bulgaria, discussed with fellow CEE lawyers if an increase in insolvency and restructuring proceedings is to be expected in the region in 2023, as well as the current legal landscape with regard to the potential increase in such work.
