AT/CZ: Schoenherr strengthens teams in Vienna and Prague with two new contract partner promotions

Owing to their exceptional legal expertise and business acumen, both long-term Schoenherr lawyers joined the ranks of contract partners as of 1 February 2018.

About Michael Woller

When considering Michael Woller for the contract partner position, Lagler commented "Michael is one of the most distinguished intellectual property practitioners of his generation, who has reinforced the firm's expertise particularly in the fields of new technologies, unfair competition and trademark strategy."
 
Michael Woller joined Schoenherr in 2008, specialising in intellectual property as well as unfair competition law. He has a particular focus on new technology matters, international trademark strategy and advertising/unfair competition law – both non-contentious and litigation. He regularly advises and represents Austrian and international companies from the IT, pharma and consumer industries. Also, Michael coordinates Schoenherr's IP practices across Central and Eastern Europe. He regularly publishes in law journals and is in charge of the IP case review section of the renowned Austrian law journal ecolex. He received his law doctorate degree from the University of Vienna, where he teaches European and International Trademark Law for post-graduate students.

About Vladimír Čížek

Vladimír Čížek joined Schoenherr in 2013 focusing mainly on M&A transactions, corporate law matters, banking & finance and capital markets. In recent years, Vladimír has developed extensive expertise in payments services regulation – while advising EVO Payments International or Komerční banka, a.s. on building merchant acquiring alliances – and contributed to the establishment of the white collar crime task force in the Prague office. Vladimír regularly publishes in law journals, contributes to international legal compendia, and coordinates the publication of the biannual Czech Schoenherr Journal, which analyses recent local and regional legal developments. He holds a law doctorate degree from the University of West Bohemia in the Czech Republic and also studied law at Manchester Metropolitan University in the UK.
