Austria: Schoenherr advises Accuron Technologies, Singapore, on acquisition of mechatronic systemtechnik

Schoenherr has advised Accuron Technologies Limited ("Accuron Group"), owned by Temasek Holdings, Singapore, on the acquisition of mechatronic systemtechnik GmbH ("mechatronic systemtechnik") from Danube Equity, a Voest Alpine group company and Fidura, a German private equity fund. The closing of the transaction took place on 16 October 2017.

Accuron Technologies Limited is a precision engineering and technology group that is wholly-owned by Temasek Holdings (Private) Limited based in Singapore. Accuron Group owns businesses in Aerospace, medical and industrial equipment. The acquisition will enable Accuron Group to enlarge its portfolio to benefit from the major growth trends in industry segments such as Internet of Things, electric mobility, and industry automation.

mechatronic systemtechnik is a leading thin wafer handling solutions specialist. Over ten years mechatronic systemtechnik has developed from a technology start-up company to a recognised leading global provider of automated semiconductor wafer handling tools, supplying unique IP protected products to well-known fabs, foundries and semi-conductor manufacturers in Asia, Europe and the US.

Sellers are Danube Equity and FIDURA. Danube Equity is the venture capital subsidiary of Austria-based steel company voestalpine Group and has been engaged with mechatronic systemtechnik since 2004.

FIDURA is a German group of independent Private Equity Funds, investing in growth-oriented and innovative mid-sized companies based primarily in German-speaking countries. FIDURA has been engaged with mechatronic systemtechnik since 2008.

Schoenherr advised Accuron Group on all legal aspects of the M&A transaction through the successful closing.
