Schoenherr advised ASSA ABLOY, a global player in access solutions, on the acquisition of SKIDATA, an international leading provider of access management solutions. The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions and is expected to close in the third quarter of 2024.
Schoenherr advised ASSA ABLOY on all aspects of Austrian law in connection with the transaction, including due diligence and M&A. The transaction was subject to German law, on which Freshfields Germany advised.
ASSA ABLOY is an international group with around 51,000 employees and branches in over 70 countries. It produces and sells locking systems, electromechanical products and security doors and fittings.
Headquartered in Salzburg, Austria, SKIDATA is part of the Public Access division of Swiss-listed Kudelski Group (SWX:KUD) and has around 1,280 employees. The company will be part of the Business Segment Pedestrian within the Entrance Systems Division.
