Austria: Schoenherr advises HS Timber Group on acquisition of Swedish Malå Såg AB

The firm provided comprehensive advice to HS Timber Group throughout the transaction, supporting all local M&A-relevant aspects. The transaction is subject to the fulfilment of customary regulatory approvals.

Based in Vienna, HS Timber Group is one of the world’s leading wood processing companies, exporting its products to 80 different destinations worldwide.

Malå Såg is a well-established sawmill in northern Sweden. The company specialises in high-quality northern pine products, which are sold globally, primarily to Norway, Sweden, Japan and the United Kingdom. It plays a key role in the regional value chain, supplying wood materials to the pulp industry as well as to local bioenergy producers.
