Austria: Schoenherr advises on Storyclash exit to Kolsquare

Schoenherr advised the shareholders of Storyclash, an Austria-based scale-up specialising in influencer marketing technology, on its acquisition by the French influencer marketing software provider Kolsquare.

Schoenherr advised Storyclash's shareholders on all legal aspects of the exit, having supported Storyclash with ongoing legal advice for many years prior. Following the acquisition, Storyclash will continue to operate under its existing brand, with founders Andreas Gutzelnig and Philip Penner remaining actively involved in the business.

"We are pleased to have supported Storyclash on another important milestone," said Schoenherr partner Thomas Kulnigg, who co-led the advisory team together with Dominik Tyrybon. "This move enables Storyclash to accelerate its European growth as part of a larger international platform, while continuing to build on its strong technological and entrepreneurial foundations."

Founded in Linz in 2016, Storyclash provides a data-driven platform that enables brands, agencies and public organisations to plan, execute and analyse influencer marketing campaigns across social media channels such as Instagram and TikTok. With its acquisition by Kolsquare, Storyclash becomes part of a broader European influencer marketing ecosystem serving around 2,000 customers in more than 30 countries.

Kolsquare, founded in Paris in 2018, provides an all-in-one software solution for influencer marketing and has been part of the team.blue group since October 2024. The acquisition of Storyclash strengthens Kolsquare's presence in the DACH region and complements its existing technology offering.

The Schoenherr team advising Storyclash's shareholders was led by Thomas Kulnigg (Partner) and Dominik Tyrybon (Attorney at Law), and further included Alexander Pabst (Attorney at Law), Christoph Haid (Partner), Maximilian Czernin (Associate), Daniela Birnbauer (Attorney at Law), Marco Thorbauer (Partner), Tobias Hayden (Attorney at Law), Sarah Dräxler (Associate), Stefan Kühteubl (Partner), Karin Pusch (Counsel), Matthias Hagenauer (Associate), Christina Unterdünhofen (Attorney at Law) and Nina Zafoschnig (Counsel).

DLA Piper provided legal advice to Kolsquare. i5invest acted as financial advisor.
