Schoenherr wins three CEE Deal of the Year Awards for Austria, Bulgaria and Montenegro from CEE Legal Matters

Alexandra Doytchinova (Bulgaria managing partner, Sofia) and Sascha Schulz (counsel, Vienna) accepted the awards on behalf of Schoenherr at the award ceremony on 28 March 2019 in Budapest.

The CEE Deal of the Year Awards were won due to Schoenherr's excellent performance and legal expertise in the following transactions:

• Austria: Vonovia's public takeover of BUWOG. The team was led by Christian Herbst (partner, Vienna, corporate/m&a). 
   
• Bulgaria: OTP's acquisition of Société Générale Expressbank and its subsidiaries. The team was led by Ilko Stoyanov (partner, Sofia, corporate/m&a). Schoenherr acted as co-counsel alongside Jones Day Paris.
   
• Montenegro: PPF's acquisition of Telenor's Telecom Business in Montenegro. The team was led by Luka Lopičić (partner, Belgrade, corporate/m&a). Schoenherr acted as co-counsel alongside Latham Watkins London.

Schoenherr was nominated for a total of 9 transactions and in six categories this year including for Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia.
