More security with AI facial recognition?

The Austrian daily newspaper Kurier has published two articles in which Schoenherr expert Daniela Birnbauer comments on the use of AI for security. In the first article, she expresses concerns about Germany's plans to implement AI-based facial recognition in light of the legal requirements under the AI Act. In the second article, "Police in Austria rely on digital image synchronisation", Daniela comments on the likeliness of a future use of facial recognition in Austria. She emphasises the need to define clear conditions for the use of AI in public spaces.
