Romania: Schoenherr advises Risen Energy Solar Project GmbH on the sale of 20 MW PV park to Alternus Energy Group plc.

Schoenherr Romania advised Risen Energy Solar Project GmbH on the sale of a photovoltaic ("PV") project with an installed capacity of 20 MW, located in Giurgiu county, Romania to Alternus Energy Group plc.

Through this transaction, Risen Energy Solar Project GmbH has sold 100 % of the share capital of LJG Green Source Energy Beta SRL, the project company that operates the PV park, to Alternus Energy Group plc. Schoenherr's advisory covered the full range of sell-side legal matters in connection with this M&A transaction.

"Things are moving again in the Romanian renewable energy market and we have seen an increasing appetite for investments in this sector in the past year. We are happy to have advised Risen Energy Solar Project GmbH in getting this deal done," said Schoenherr Romania local partner Monica Cojocaru, who led the team advising on this project.

Risen Energy Solar Project GmbH is a subsidiary of Risen Energy, one of the world pioneers in solar industry. The company has committed to this industry as an R&D expert, an integrated manufacturer from wafers to modules, a manufacturer of off-grid systems, and also an investor, a developer and an EPC of PV projects.

Alternus Energy is an Irish incorporated solar park operator. The company acquires small to medium size solar PV parks across Europe. Its portfolio before this acquisition included a diversified portfolio of solar PV parks in Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Romania, with a total installed capacity of 48 MW.
