Austria/CEE: Schoenherr advises Ericsson on acquisition of Kathrein SE's antenna and filters business

Schoenherr has advised the Swedish network supplier Ericsson on the acquisition of German Kathrein SE's antenna and filters division.

Under an agreement concluded on 25 February 2019, Ericsson will acquire Katherine SE's business division of mobile radio antennas and filters by way of an asset deal. The transaction is subject to certain closing conditions and the approval of the relevant regulatory authorities.

Ericsson will take over 4,000 highly-skilled professionals in R&D, production and sales based in more than 20 locations including Germany, Romania, the U.S., Mexico and China. Schoenherr advised on the Romanian part of the transaction. Ericsson‘s lead counsel on the transaction is Hengeler Mueller.

Kathrein SE is a world leading provider of antenna and filter technologies and is an existing Ericsson supplier.

Ericsson is one of the leading providers of Information and Communication Technology to service providers. The transaction serves to optimise its sites in the context of the 5G introduction.
